Based in the Bronx, New York, Sharon Baptist Head Start provides quality early childcare, education, health, nutrition, and social services. Sharon Baptist Head Start recognizes that parents want the best for their children. To help educate parents about childcare as much as possible, here are some suggestions for creating a healthy sleep routine with your child.
1. Maintain a consistent nighttime schedule, including weekends.
2. Begin your child's evening routine approximately 30–60 minutes before their scheduled bedtime. This habit teaches your child when it is time to go to bed and allows you to have some quiet time together.
3. Try ensuring that the room is secure, comfortable, and mainly utilized for sleeping to minimize disturbances.
4. If your youngster has difficulty falling asleep, reading a book or listening to calm music can assist.
5. Switch off the television and video games. These elements make it more difficult for your child to go to sleep and stay asleep.
6. Before going to bed, avoid all sugary or caffeinated beverages such as juice, tea, and soft drinks.
7. Spend some time discussing your child's day, their interests, or sing a quiet song together.
