National Head Start Association

Sharon Baptist Head Start is a charitable organization that provides preschool and daycare services to children and families from economically disadvantaged and at-risk backgrounds as a representative of Head Start, a program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Founded in 1969 in the Bronx, New York, it currently features three campuses and enrolls over 350 children each year. Sharon Baptist Head Start is also a member of several Head Start-related organizations, including the National Head Start Association (NHSA).

NHSA is a nonprofit devoted to the success of every child regardless of his or her background. Its core mission is to ensure children and families in the most vulnerable conditions receive the Head Start model of support.

Today, NHSA continues to promulgate the access of children from at-risk backgrounds to the Head Start initiative. Additionally, it supports the early childhood community by offering various professional development services and events, such as the annual National Head Start Conference and the National Parent Conference.
