3. Try ensuring that the room is secure, comfortable, and mainly utilized for sleeping to minimize disturbances.
4. If your youngster has difficulty falling asleep, reading a book or listening to calm music can assist.
5. Switch off the television and video games. These elements make it more difficult for your child to go to sleep and stay asleep.
6. Before going to bed, avoid all sugary or caffeinated beverages such as juice, tea, and soft drinks.

SBHS- Dual-language Learning FAQ

Sharon Baptist Head Start started its operations in the Bronx, New York, in 1969. Each year, Sharon Baptist Head Start enrolls close to 400 children across its three campuses. Its curriculum includes dual-language learning.

Q: What is dual-language learning?

A: Dual-language learning teaches young children to learn a second language while maintaining their native tongue development. Every classroom has everyday objects and toys labeled in each language the students speak and books in the relevant languages. If possible, teachers conduct developmental tests in the child's native language. Otherwise, if needed, translators are used.

Q: How does a child become a dual-language learner?

A: Dual-language learners acquire various languages at varying rates and in different methods. Some youngsters start learning two or more languages at the same time when they are born. Other children may learn English sequentially, incorporating English with their native language upon enrollment into early care and education programs. Young children acquire language through interactions with their primary caregivers and peers in the course of daily routines.

Q: What are the benefits of dual-language learning?

A: Children benefit from learning two or more languages as they prepare for school and life. Dual-language learners who fully develop two or more languages benefit in various ways: show better self-control, have deep links to their family, culture, and community, and establish new friends and form lasting bonds. They also understand arithmetic concepts and solving math problems more quickly. They develop cognitive flexibility, use reasoning, and thinking skills, and focus their attention longer. Furthermore, the children have an openness to learning about and from individuals from diverse cultures.

Regardless of this, each of these organizations still had a separate identity, and they continued existing.

The NHSA has achieved quite a lot in the decades that it has been existing. The association now promises several professional development services for people in the early childhood education sector.
